I understand the practical constraints. However, with any new design change, there are gorwing pains, which ulitmately result in benefit to both the user and the business. Our attitude cannot be that it is difficult to implement change, therefore we won't. The same machinery is modified in countries where the design and placement of use by and sell by dates is regulated.
Moreover, for perishable items such as vegetables, meat, and dairy - sell by and use by dates are critical for user safety.
